#ImInPain
Imagine you have a chronic illness that affects one in ten people born with a uterus*, and yet, hardly anyone knows it even exists. Severe pain during menstruation, as well as cycle-independent pain throughout the body, are among the symptoms. Those affected are often limited in many areas of life, and there are few treatment options. The result is chronic inflammation, scarring, adhesions, bleeding in the abdominal cavity, and often infertility. How can it be that such a widespread disease is largely unknown? The name of this disease is endometriosis. Never heard of it? Then you're in the right place! We are the band 5 Peeps and the Battery, and we want to fight the ignorance surrounding endometriosis. To do this, we wrote the song "Pain," in which our singer Lilly processes her years of experience with endometriosis. With "Pain," we want to use the platform of music to make this topic accessible to a wide audience and to show those affected that they are not alone.
On this page, we have compiled information about endometriosis as well as resources for those affected. You can expand your knowledge in a fun way and even become a supporter for a good cause. Take your time to explore everything and let’s work together to raise awareness about endometriosis!

Become Part of the Movement
It’s high time that endometriosis receives more attention. As a band, we’ve set ourselves the goal of using our music to raise awareness for this important issue. Our song “Pain” aims to serve as a platform to unite those affected and to raise awareness about endometriosis. With the hashtag #ImInPain, we want to spread this message – and for that, we need you. Use the channels available to you to bring the topic into conversation within your circle! You’re welcome to use our hashtag or use “Pain” as a musical backdrop to support this campaign. Of course, you can also take action in your own way. What matters is that endometriosis finally receives the attention it deserves.
If you are looking for a concrete way to get involved, we would like to recommend the project Hidden Heroes. "Hidden Heroes" is a documentary photography project we are collaborating with. The photographer "Nietze" collects stories from those affected, told through images and texts, thus giving them a voice. Additionally, the project includes voices from experts in sexual therapy, nutritional medicine, and conventional medicine. We are convinced that "Nietze" is making a valuable contribution to raising awareness with her project. The project is urgently looking for supporters—whether in public relations, fundraising, or social media. Feel free to contact the photographer through this contact form.
Another important way to get involved if you are affected is the online questionnaire of the Endometriosis-Association Germany e.V. Here, you can anonymously share your experiences with specific healthcare facilities so that other affected individuals can benefit from them.
